On Thursday the presentation press conference will be held and at 9 pm there is the appointment with Simone Moro.
The North Face® Lavaredo Ultra Trail will be run along the original route. Thanks to the work of the volunteers the paths of the Dolomites near Cortina d'Ampezzo are ready for the two thousand competitors. 



After a few days of apprehension the original route was confirmed on Tuesday evening. Simone Brogioni, the race director, has announced the end of the preparation of the longer route. «Thanks to the work of the volunteers and the various associations of the territory, - said Brogioni - we have been able to free up the paths from the damage caused by the snow during the winter months. It was a long job but now I can confirm that the competitors of the Lavaredo Ultra Trail and the Cortina Trail will undertake the original route». «My thanks, - concluded Brogioni - go, in particular, to the Municipality of Cortina d'Ampezzo, the Regole d’Ampezzo, to the Cortina, San Vito and Auronzo Alpine Rescue, and to the CAI of Cortina d'Ampezzo and Auronzo. I do not want to forget the work of numerous volunteers, which in these days has been extremely valuable»


The original route of 119 kilometres with 5,850 metres of altitude gain, which due to adverse weather conditions and snow present at high altitudes could not be used in the last edition, is now ready to receive the thousand athletes enrolled in the long race. The stretch under the Tre Cime di Lavaredo will definitely be exciting. In the early hours of Saturday, 28 June trailers will run under the Spigolo Giallo of the Cima Piccola, illuminated by the first light of dawn and they will be accompanied by the majesty of the Cima Ovest and the Cima Grande, the highest in the group with its 2,999 metres.

Another thousand athletes will run the shorter route of the Cortina Trail now in its third edition, and pass through the chain of mountains surrounding the Regina delle Dolomiti: Tofana, Cinque Torri and Croda da Lago.

The departure of the North Face® Lavaredo Ultra Trail is planned for 11 pm on Friday, 27 June from Corso Italia, a few metres from the bell tower of Cortina. The Cortina Trail, a shorter race by 47 kilometres, with 2,650 metres of altitude gain, starts Saturday morning at 8 am, also from Corso Italia. The arrival of the winner of the longer race is foreseen for 11.30, while the winner of the Cortina Trail will arrive, presumably, at about 12.30 pm.

The event will close on Sunday morning at 11.30 in Piazza Dibona with the official awards ceremony for the winners.

As regards the programme for the long weekend dedicated to the trails, it will begin on Thursday afternoon with the opening of the Expo (Stadio del Ghiaccio), at 6 pm at the Alexander Girardi Hall there will be a presentation press conference with some athletes and representatives of the international circuit "Ultra-Trail World Tour" present, which represents the 10 most prestigious races in the world. At 9 pm, again at the Alexander Girardi Hall, the mountaineer Simone Moro will give a talk entitled "The life of an explorer". Entry is free.
